Pac-10 talks kickoff game at Rose Bowl against Big Ten foe

The Pac-10 is considering holding an annual kickoff game at the Rose Bowl, possibly matching up one of the conference's teams against a team from the Big Ten, the L.A. Times reports.
"The Pac-10 has a tradition of playing some really tough out-of-conference games early on," commissioner Larry Scott said Thursday at the Pac-10 media day, which was held at the Pasadena stadium. "We love the Rose Bowl relationship."
A kickoff game at the Rose Bowl would be in line with Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott's objective of enhancing the conference's brand. Scott intends to market the conference nationally, and as part of that effort, Pac-10 coaches and players went on an East Coast media tour earlier this week, visiting New York and ESPN's studios in Bristol, Conn.
